Sunday, 20 May 2018 2018 Graduation Day is Sunday, 20 May 2018. Graduation Weekend is Friday, 18 May – Sunday, 20 May. All important information pertaining to proceedings for UVA and Darden during Graduation can be found below. You can also access the 2018 graduation activities brochure. UVA Information UVA Final Exercises Information UVA Tickets and Seating for the Lawn Darden Information Parking Guests with a Darden parking pass will park at the Darden garage and take the shuttle to the John Paul Jones Arena, where they will catch the shuttle to UVA Central Grounds. Each graduate is allowed one (1) Darden parking pass. Shuttle service begins at 7 a.m. Guests without a Darden parking pass must park at University Hall and take the shuttle to Darden. Tickets, Caps and Gowns Graduates must pick up their six (6) UVA Final Exercises tickets, two (2) North Grounds Recreation Center tickets (only used for inclement weather), one (1) Darden parking pass and cap and gown from the Darden Exchange Bookstore between Wednesday, 16 May and Saturday, 19 May (see Bookstore information below for their open hours). Tickets are not required for the Darden Graduation Ceremony if held at Flagler Court. Executive MBA Program caps and gowns will be in the Executive program office. Shuttle Service Graduation shuttle buses will transport attendees from Darden to the John Paul Jones Arena/University Hall area and then to Central Grounds for Final Exercises on the Lawn. After the Lawn ceremony, shuttle buses will load at the University Chapel to transport attendees to school and department graduation ceremonies, as well as the parking areas. Shuttle service begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Shuttle buses will run longer under the inclement- and severe-weather plans. Food and Drink The Abbott Center Dining Room will offer a full breakfast buffet (eggs, pancakes, bacon, etc.) for purchase on Sunday from 7 – 9 a.m. Café 67 will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. with grab and go food and drink available for purchase. Snack boxes will be offered following the Darden Graduation ceremony for all graduates, guests, faculty, and staff compliments of the Darden School. Bookstore The Darden Exchange Bookstore will be open during Graduation Weekend at the following times: Wednesday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Connect With Us Join the Graduation conversation using our event hashtag! #UVAGrad For general graduation announcements and weather plan information via text alerts, text "Darden2018" to 79516. Tentative ScheduleSunday, 20 May 2018 All events, times, and locations are subject to change. 9:00 a.m. – Graduates Assemble for UVA Academic ProcessionAssemble for academic procession in Poe Alley (between Pavilions III and V). Graduates should wear their cap and gown with the tassel on the right front side of the cap. 10:00 a.m. – UVA Academic Procession and Final Exercises, The LawnEach graduate will receive six (6) tickets for the Lawn Ceremony. The graduate does not need a ticket, but must be wearing a cap and gown in order to gain access to the Lawn or John Paul Jones Arena. If the ceremony is moved to the John Paul Jones Arena (in the event of severe weather), graduates will be limited to three (3) guest tickets. 12:30 p.m. – Graduates Assemble for Darden Procession Residential MBAs meet in the Darden Faculty Office Building, first floor. Executives MBA and Global Executives MBA students meet in the Classroom Building, first floor hallway, near Room 190. Graduates assemble alphabetically for Darden procession. If inclement or severe weather occurs, graduates meet at North Grounds Recreation Center after the UVA Lawn Ceremony. 1:15 p.m. - Darden Graduation Ceremony, Flagler Court ( Inclement Weather Site: North Grounds Recreation Center) If held at North Grounds Recreation Center, seating is available for graduates and two guests. If held at Flagler Court, seating is on a first-come basis. No tickets required. A luncheon will immediately follow the ceremony. Locations are different for different weather plans.
