The course begins with drawing the map from where you are today to where you want to be as a result of your MBA.Next, you will select traveling companions — colleagues, classmates, and mentors — who will serve as guides on your quest. Finally, you will travel the road ahead, launching your new personal brand and putting it to work for you.Along the way, you will give and receive meaningful feedback, which will shape your evolving narrative about who you are, where you are going, and how the Darden MBA is advancing your career. Leadership Coaching is an elective in which an executive coach will work one-on-one with you, benefiting both you and your employer. Through your leadership residencies and courses ("Leading Organizations" and "Management Communications") you will identify a leadership or management challenge you face in your job. The Leadership Coaching elective helps you identify the skills you need in order to overcome the challenge. The process continues as you work one-on-one with an executive coach to master that leadership challenge (e.g., building a high-performing team, dealing with a difficult employee, or managing conflicting stakeholders) in the context of the business objectives (e.g., growing the business or introducing a new accounting system). You will participate in five coaching sessions, and you will emerge with a graded deliverable, in which you will document your progress, takeaways and future leadership implications.
