    What will students gain from this program?

    The students will gain first-hand experience with Israel, its history, and its unique geographic and cultural positioning that make it The Start-up Nation. Participants will uncover how innovation and entrepreneurship are fostered by a variety of startups, investors, policy makers, and society. Such insights will be developed through meetings with entrepreneurs, established businesses, government representatives, and professional organizations in Israel. Students will especially focus on how Israel’s unique positioning, people, and history influence such business activities. In addition, participants will enjoy the sights, the food, the culture, and the 3000-year history of Israel.

    Academic Program Overview

    Prior to Trip

    • Introductory meeting of students and discussion of expectations and objectives
    • Team preparation of company overviews (1 or 2 companies per student)
    • Discussion of key Israeli cultural and business characteristics in anticipation of company visits

    Possible Trip Events

    • Business meetings: technology companies, startups and entrepreneurs, Israeli government representatives, multinational firms operating in Israel
    • Networking: Alumni reception
    • Cultural Experiences: Old City of Jerusalem, Dead Sea, Masada, Tel Aviv and Jaffa tour, Dinner at Yael's house

    End of Trip Wrap-Up
